NARPM (National Association of Real Estate Property Managers)
NARPM is one of the largest property management associations for smaller property managers who mostly manage single family homes.

Certification – Residential Management Professional (RMP)
Pre Qualifications – You must already manage 100 units over a two-year period and be committed to gaining new skills that will take your company to the next level.

IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management)

IREM has a lot of members that manage commercial, apartments and single family homes.

Certification – Certified Property Manager (CPM)
Pre Qualifications – 

  • Fulfill the one year Candidacy period by being a CPM Candidate Member, ARM Member, or ACoM Member in good standing for the 12 months prior to CPM approval
  • Be in good standing with annual national and chapter dues. (national dues are $495; chapter dues vary by chapter.)

National Apartment Association (NAA)
NAA is the largest apartment association with over 74,000 members. Members range from property managers, vendors, owners, leasing agents, marketers and more.

Pre Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months of onsite property management experience
  • Successful completion of all CAM coursework (totaling 40 hours)
  • Meet all examination standards within 12 months of declaring candidacy

Some of the things you would need for this certification are 3 years qualifying real estate management experience as defined by IREM, fulfill a one-year candidacy period by being a member in good standing for the 12 months prior to CPM® approval, submit 3 letters of recommendation, hold a real estate license, attend 2 IREM chapter meetings and be interviewed and approved by your IREM chapter.
